once upon in the afternoon...
Nowadays I have a quiet walk in afternoon. All the beggars in front of temple are having a lunch. The holy rings of bronze and yellow color are getting washed in the bucket, kids are not crying. A man is sticking paper bills on polls. (I saw for the first time some human hand changing the paper on pole!)He seemed quite consumed in his business... The new buildings are quiet, huge basements and generators, getting ready for new residents, older ones quieter still... odd time, when city moves without bustling about it...
The heat is not blazing. It is not scorching-yet.
It is everyday life and yet I have been drawn to it. There is a temple but there is no crowd. Beggars are actually eating the food, dirty kids hanging around. The kids are hungrily finishing the food given. The elders are sleepy and not bothered to pay attention to an onlooker like me. the food is as usual -left over probably but at least eatable...if I would be hungry I would eat that too...probably.. You never know....
The whole atmosphere is so distant from the throbbing, noisy Pune that it is like an oddity. But perhaps I have not seen the core Pune yet. The Pune which sleeps from 1 to 4pm. and I would not blame them for that at least! ...
But what am I doing here? What am I doing in the middle of the heat observing beggars and loiters. I am as lethargically observing this as a beggar sitting on the traffic signal island....
After all it's all these beggars and men who are selling the "wholly' rings have- a quiet afternoon where they have time perhaps to look from the eternal worry of feeding. It is the time where they know they can't sell, beg, serve. Hence they rest. Rest well my friends for the big city will boom sooner than the sleep of mango tree shadows has to offer. And then the hunger will take over.
Slowly ever the noises will start booming, temple lights coming up at 6pm and the crowd will start coming to worship god without Regard to beggars, ring sellers and all such unnoticeable parts of temple.
It is as well for all them too because this anonymity is what makes them sell the rings, get the food and gets them going in life.
In thy shadow though shall not starve...

you are having good observation skills, but there are ways we see the things. How I would interpret this as beggers(the term which is used for mentality of a person who looks only for todays survival).
So celebrations starts when ppl stop worrying.
So Beggers are in no hurry of worry
much better than the 1st version.
